A little about me and my blog page
The name of my blog is “Ayo Data Techniques”. The theme
of my blog is “Analytics” - a customized theme showcasing a calculator and data.
The link for the main blog page is https://ayanalysistechniques.blogspot.com/.
I had an issue navigating the blog page and making the best use of it. However,
the weekly chat helped me because Dr. C. was able to set the ball rolling for
me. Now, I feel much more comfortable blogging. For this assignment, I posted “A
little about me and my blog page”.
My name is Ayodele Akinwale, ‘Ayo’
in short. I am a Data Analyst, and I have been working with data for over 20
years. I believe that ‘Data’ drives all decisions, and that a society that
embraces Data Analytics embraces success. I worked as a Statistician and a
Budget Officer with a state government for over 16 years. As a Statistician, I
published several annual data reports for the ministries I worked with; this
guided their decision-making and is driving the ministries. As a Budget
Officer, I prepared the personnel budget, overhead budget, and capital budget
for the ministry, as part of the state’s overall budget. I also reported the
budget performance on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, using data
analytics techniques. Currently,
I work as a cloud information technology
associate with one of
the Government-Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs) in the USA.
Pure and Applied Mathematics is the
program for my first degree from LAUTECH, a university of technology that gave
me a very sound foundation. I proceeded to the University of Maryland Global
College (UMGC), where I earned my master’s in Data Analytics, and I had an
intriguing project on using machine learning to detect patients that are prone
to cardiovascular disease. I am currently a doctoral student of Doctor of
Computer Science - Big Data Analytics at Colorado Technical University (CTU). I
am in this program to widen my knowledge and contribute my quota to our
society; in making the general world a better place. I earned several
certifications in Oracle SQL, ITIL, and AWS. The latest one I had was in the AWS
machine learning specialty.
I just started a Futuring and
Innovation class at CTU that requires me to create this blog and requires me to
publish my assignments throughout this course. I am so excited to be given this
opportunity, and I believe I will continue to use this blog page, even beyond
this class. This class is about looking back at where we were in technology, where
we are currently, and projecting into the future to see where we will be and
the possibilities of being there. We will be applying schema and decision
criteria to the innovations in the future, in the next 10 to 25 years, to
understand their relevance, the technology that depends on them, the time
frame, and the forces that affect them. I am so excited to be in the class
because it is promising to teach me that I do not have to be influential, to be
relevant in the “Futuring and Innovation” world.
I will use this blog to discuss the power of smart data in innovations. Machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and artificial intelligence will be significantly explored, and we will see how these will drive the future. I have gone through some inspiring TED talks like “Brilliant designs to fit more people in every city” by Kent Larson, and I hope to see more of the innovators in anticipation of joining them soon.
